There’s not much to add to this video from RealWire, a clever pastiche of An Invonvenient Truth. I’ve lost count of the amount of times I’ve spoken to journalists or other bloggers about press release spam, so it’s no surprise that RealWire’s research shows that three out of four press releases are unwanted.
In a way it feels like a slightly odd thing for a news wire company to say, particularly remembering tech journo Gordon Kelly’s tweet recently comparing PR Newswire and Viagra. Still, I think the guys at RealWire get it, but like the ‘real’ Inconvenient Truth, I suspect very few PR and social media people will take heed.
