A moment on the lips…

Right. That’s it. The cleats and toe clips have to go. After another embarrassing traffic light incident on Saturday morning - this time falling to the left and grazing the other knee - I think it’s time to go back to the old fashioned toe clips. I have to start…erm…hardening myself up to long distance cycling and need to get more miles in – without fearing that I’m going to topple over every time I reach some traffic lights.
This weekend wasn’t too bad for sport, with a game of football also on Saturday afternoon and a gym session with swim today. It was probably offset by last night’s stag-do celebrations, for an old mate, which inevitably involved beer and burgers (although I resisted the lure of the after-club kebab or chips).
I also found out today that my body fat rating is 17.3%, which is apparently “good” – for my age. Yes, I may only be 33, but it’s a sign of my stage of adulthood, when people say, “that’s not bad for your age”. So I’m celebrating with a cup of coffee and a biscuit. One (well actually two in my case) of those McVitie’s Fruitsters has 4.1g of fat in it. Not that I’m counting or anything.
