That sinking feeling…

My swimming training has completely drowned. Living in Leicestershire, it’s a pretty long way from the sea, so I hoped to get some sea swimming training in at my folk’s in Hastings this weekend. Unfortunately my groin strain prevented that - in fact, it prevented exercise altogether.
Jo, who I’m doing the tri with, is in Cornwall getting loads of practice in. She’s a much better swimmer than I am, by all accounts, but has still been struggling to get used to swimming in open water.
Sea water tastes disgusting. Then you add the current, and it’s like flailing around in treacle. Your technique goes out of the window and it’s just a case of trying to stay afloat. The whole experience scared the living daylights out of me.
Great.
Meanwhile, Armgard, has been out on her bike, clocking up 60km in 2.5 hours. She also managed an impressive 12km run in just over an hour.
I ate shortbread, while sitting around talking about computers with my brother.
