Getting my kit on

My training is still in the stall phase. I haven’t done anything at all since my groin strain last week and am getting a bit anxious about the South Coast Triathlon now. I’m now focused on just doing the damn thing, even if I’m still running after sunset.

How I felt in a wet suite
The nearest I got to some preparation last night was popping into Decathlon to get some kit. I bought some new goggles and a float to try and improve my form in the pool. I also tried on a wetsuit. I’m still unsure what thickness to go for, but just thought I’d try one on for size. I wish I hadn’t: I just looked like Little Britain’s Daffyd, the last gay in the village.

So, the plan this evening is to see if I can find out where the swimming pools are in Leicester and get to one of those either tomorrow or at the weekend. A run wouldn’t go amiss either. Some of my mates who I’m doing the Great North Run with, did 9 miles last night, but I think I just need to take one step at a time.
