Getting back out there

Since the South Coast Triathlon, my attention has switched to the Great North Run. Having not received anything from the organisers, I was worried that I wasn’t in, but having called them up I’ve found out that I am. I’ve been placed in the Orange Section for people aiming for 1.15, literally twice as fast as I’m likely to do it - it’s the Tri all over again. I think it’ll be sensible to downgrade a couple of sections.

So, with only three weeks to go, I’ve managed a couple of runs out in the past few days, including the gnarley incliner around Cromford, the canal run in Theale and taking in Leicester’s industrial heritage last night. They were all short runs, so I’m hoping to get a long one in at the weekend to start my late preparation in earnest - but at least I won’t be having to get into the sea in Newcastle.
