Great North Run

On Sunday, I ran the Great North Run with some mates. It was, without doubt, my favourite event of the year so far. Bags of atmosphere, some amusing bands, the Red Arrows, no rain and a few beers afterwards - it’s what it’s all about really.
My time was 2.03.59, slightly slower than the Reading Half, but perfectly satisfactory (most people say that you’re unlikely to get a PB at GNR). With the euphoria, I’ve signed up to the Leicester Half Marathon. Part of the course goes along the tow path, so I’m not expecting more than a few hundred runners. Still, it’ll be interesting seeing my old city from a different perspective.
Check out jogger bloggers Jo and Warrior Woman, who have both captured the spirit of the day in their blog entries perfectly.
