Cry-off (again)

I’m not sure if my ‘half life of a cold’ theory is complete twaddle as it’s Monday morning and my cold is no better than on Friday. So, no great surprise then, that I didn’t do the Leicester Half Marathon. I was quite disappointed not to do it actually, as the conditions were great and there was a pleasant atmosphere at Victoria Park, where it all kicked off on Sunday morning.

Congratulations go to my mates that all did it, particularly Dan, who pulled in an impressive 1.38, with hardly any training; Stav, who got his second PB this month at 1.50; and Em, who chopped ten minutes off her GNR time and came in under two hours.

A few of them are off to do the Rodings Rally in November, which is a gnarly overnight orienteering challenge. I’ve done it before and not sure my orienteering skills are quite there yet and I value my sleep too much. So with 0/7 of my Septathlon challenge completed, I need to get fit and healthy again and find some competitions to enter.
