It’s been over two weeks since I’ve done any exercise and I’m getting fed up with having a cold now. I think my half-life of a cold theory has been well and truly blown out of the water.

So, to make myself feel like I’m somehow doing something towards my Septathlon goal, I’ve singed up to the Hastings Half Marathon next year.

I remember marshalling and doing water stops at the Hastings half when I was in the Scouts and the Ventures and it was always one of the highlights of the Hastings calendar. The local people - well my family, at least - were very proud of having what they thought was the biggest half marathon in the country on their doorstep.

It looks like we might get a good sized group together. I’d just better warn my parents so my mum can stock up on the biscuits.
