Radcliffe reborn

The world’s fastest mum, Paul Radcliffe, brought tears of joy to sports fans yesterday when she won the New York Marathon. It was apparently a great performance, after missing out on a win at the Great North Run (actually, without the distraction of my mates and I in the field, she probably felt the pressure was off.)
I missed the race, but her performance was, by all accounts, typically gritty.
“And I was thinking back to all of the weeks cross-training that I had to do with my back injury and all of the time that I missed out through pregnancy and not giving up. I was thinking, ‘This is mine, this is mine,’ and working really hard.”
I was the same when I was bobbing up and down on my triathlon (ahem).
